Denture Relines & Repairs

The human body is always changing. Your jawline tissue can shrink and change. Dentures may not fit correctly if this occurs. Dentures can also become damaged with time and usage. We can help you with both, denture relines in Peace River and denture repair. If your dentures are in good shape, relining can improve the fit and function and make them more comfortable to wear.

A repair can restore dentures that are damaged or fractured to a condition similar to the original. It is possible that a damaged denture is a sign of another problem, such as an old denture or worn-out teeth. Consult our denturists to determine the best course of action for you.

Denture relines are available in two different types:

Hard Relines – Hard relines are an excellent way to improve the fit of existing dentures. Hard (or “processed”) relines are done in two appointments. The first involves taking a detailed impression using your existing denture. At the second appointment, your newly relined teeth will be inserted. Relines are usually completed in a single day.

Soft Relines are used by patients with receded gums, flat gums, chronic pain, or gums with sharp or prominent bony areas. Permanent soft relines are often completed in just one day.

Denture Repairs

If your denture breaks or chips, or you need to add teeth to it due to a natural tooth extraction, denture repairs are necessary. Repairs on dentures may indicate underlying issues, such as worn-out teeth or a poor fit. Your denturist can explain to you how to avoid denture damage.

Most repairs can be done in our office, saving you time. A cracked denture base or broken tooth can be repaired in 2-3 hours if you make an appointment. Dentures can be realigned and adjusted to fit better, preventing excessive pressure from damaging the denture. If you notice changes to your dentures, it is best to schedule an appointment with the Peace River Denture Clinic.
